Bride: What about the girl.
Sam: What girl?
Bride: The one you met last new year's eve.
Are you gonna meet her tonight?
Sam: It was a year ago, we've all moved on.
Look at you two... a married.

You walked-out on me Daniel
I think that says it all.
- Laura

I'm dying, I'm not deaf.
- Stan

I've been hanging on this long so I can see the ball drop. One more time.
- Stan

I'm over it, and I'm over you.
- Hailey

Lady: What inspires you, Sam?
Sam: Pizza.
Duncan: Excellent. Sweet.

Hello, I'm Claire Morgan of the Time Square Alliance
and has you all concede the ball has stop half way to its perch.
It's suspended there to remind us before we pop the champagne
and celebrate the new year.
To stop and reflect on the year that has gone by.
To remember both our triumphs and our missteps,
our promises made and broken.
The times we opened ourselves up to great ventures
or close our self down for fear of getting hurt,
because that's what new year's is all about.

Getting another chance, a chance to forgive, to do better, to do more,
to give more, to love more, and stop worrying about what if,
and start embracing what would be.

So when that ball drops at midnight, and it will dropped,
let's remember to be nice to each other, kind to each other,
and not just tonight but whole year long. Thank you.
- Claire Morgan

You don't mess with serendipity.

Did maturity just walk into the room?
- Sam's mom

Don't forget second chances they don't expire until midnight. Okay?
- Claire

Sam: You showed up.
Kim: You showed up.
Sam: You look beautiful.
Kim: Well, I have a year to get ready.

Sometimes it feels like there's somethings in this world that we can't control.
Earthquakes, floods, reality shows.
But it is important that we remember the things that we can..
like forgiveness, second chances, fresh starts, because the one thing
that turns the world from a lonely place to a beautiful place.. is love.
Love and any of its forms. Love gives us hope. Hope for the new year.
That's new years eve to me. Hope and a great party.

No I'm not trying to convince you,

All I know is it
I have a man who looked at me like that
I would never get out of bed.

I grow up.

everybody but you.

Michael: Oh, God I'm dying.
Old man in the Park: You're not dying but you're broken heart.
Michael: Why is it hurts so much?
Old man in the Park: It's just means, you're human.

The right choice isn't always the best choice Jane.

The question of happiness has preoccupied philosophers, poets,
and pharmaceutical companies for thousands of years...
Clearly it's a tricky one.

When I graduated from design well three years ago,
I had a definite plan.

Couple months at home for together kick a** portfolio
then I take Manhattan by storm.
- Vanessa

Cathy: What's going with the couples counselor?

Paige: I don't know.
She's so none specific it's like talking to fog.
But David and I know what we stand with each other,
that's how we've lasted this long.
Somehow, it works.
Cathy: Oh, don't look at me, I just pretend Terry is invisible.

Nina: Why would anyone wanna shop on the same day as everyone else?
Terry: I hear that there have fist fights and people throw their children at each other.
Cathy: It's really and very.. very communal Christmas-ly experience.
It's beautiful.

Henry: Maybe they are really in love.
Vanessa: You said it doesn't last.
You said that the grass is only one that cow's for their money.
Henry: Usually that is the case but not a waste.
Girl co-worker: Your dad is pretty cute.
Vanessa: Don't be gross okay just because you've been gotten late
like three weeks.
Henry: Perhaps your problem is more with Nina not your father.
Vanessa: Oh is that so Henry, why is that?
Henry: Because maybe you are jealous.
Because she has traveled many places and just lived.
Because she takes chances.
Vanessa: No. You know what,
you my friend have read a little too much of this cheap pine wax okay
because she's a selfish skunk. And he's selfish too.
Girl co-worker: Yeah, but he really is happier with her
and you make 'em stop and you're the one who's being selfish.
Henry: That is maybe the most intelligent thing you ever said.

If you're happy you can say so...
- Paige

Someday I may thank you for all of this.
- Paige

On the day after Christmas Henry said,
"sometimes you have to burn down your house in order to see the moon."
Another Asian saying, but this time I knew what he meant.
- Vanessa

I'm saying.. maybe what happened, needed to happen, even for me.

I Suck at Being the Bride

Oh, internets.

It has come to my attention that I suck at wedding planning.  Mostly in my own mind, but probably other places as well.

However, I was informed that on My Big List O' Wedding Tasks, I had engagement photos listed twice.  Cross that baby off the list!!

I've spent this morning mostly watching Oscar coverage on the morning shows (extremely productive), trying to catch up on my email, finally get back to my most favorite videographers (this is me sucking up), and re-reading the parish guide to wedding procedures and understand why I have to contact 14 different people from the church for what seems to be the same thing.

I'll just never understand how these things work.

I actually just emailed a big chunk of the people on my to-do list to get the ball rolling there.  I have 4 or 5 people who have only phone information listed, so I think I'll procrastinate them for tomorrow.  Or later.

  • Determine how long my veil should be.  I think it should extend just past the hem of my dress... a number that can probably only be determined by trying on the dress and shoes and the whole gang.  Meaning, I need to sleep for about 23 hours to get up that kind of energy.
  • Un-lame the wedding website.  Or Mr. RH could do it for me.  AHEM.
  • Actually answer the vendors when they email me back, whenever that happens.
  • Figure out how to write a blog post NOT about wedding planning.  Have I lost all my single ladies out there?  Or married ones?

So yeah, it's gonna be a FUN week around here.  Starting with work today.  Considering I'm going in with unstyled hair and a lovely Monday morning attitude.... can't wait!

Happy Monday!

Americans have shorter life expectancy and higher rates of injury and disease than citizens of other industrialized countries. A 2011 report showed that the US ranked 50th in life expectancy. In most health issues (infant mortality, teenage pregnancies, sexually transmitted diseases, heart disease, chronic lung disease, disability, obesity, diabetes, drug-related deaths, homicides, injuries, and HIV/AIDS), the US is either at the bottom or near the bottom of the list of industrialized nations.
