Five years seems like such a real, long amount of time.  I think that the past five years are probably the first set of five years in my life that I can recall with clarity.  Maybe because, five years ago today, I realized that nothing in life is really guaranteed. 

Five years ago today I held my mom's hand and told her that I was going to be okay, and that everything was going to be okay.

Every day is different, and sometimes I don't think too hard about how the person I'm talking to doesn't even know my mom died, I'm special...

Today, I just miss her. 

Five years never felt so, SO fast.
